Everywhere we go, we are inundated by stimuli competing for our attention. I remember going to the library weekly as a child and bringing home 4 books home (the maximum amount) to read for the week. I was a voracious reader and I had no problem finishing the books within a day.

However as a adult, I would consider it a feat if I could finish 4 books in a month. Granted, with adulthood comes responsibilities and it is hard to carve out time for myself as it is but I don't think that that is the only issue. How many of us, having time to spare on our daily commute to work would immediately reach for our phone to scroll through our Facebook and Instagram feed?

I can hear the indignant cries of my friends and family already. What if I use Facebook to read? What if I just want to relax my mind or keep up to date with what my favourite celebrities are doing?
